Why we built TrustGate
We've been on both sides of the KYC problem. As founders of previous startups, we experienced the pain of integrating legacy identity verification systems. As engineers at large financial institutions, we saw how compliance teams struggled with false positives and manual reviews.
The industry was stuck. KYC vendors built for the compliance checkbox, not the developer experience. Authentication evolved from passwords to OAuth to WebAuthn—but identity verification was still using technology from a decade ago.
We'd seen what orchestration platforms like n8n did for workflow automation, making complex processes visual, composable, and accessible to non-engineers. Nothing like that existed for compliance. KYC, AML, document verification, and risk scoring were all siloed across disconnected tools with no way to orchestrate them together.
We founded TrustGate to change that. We're building the compliance orchestration platform—where teams can design, customize, and deploy KYC and AML workflows as easily as building an automation in n8n.
