Why we built TrustGate
We've been on both sides of the KYC problem. As founders of previous startups, we experienced the pain of integrating legacy identity verification systems. As engineers at large financial institutions, we saw how compliance teams struggled with false positives and manual reviews.
The industry was stuck. KYC vendors built for the compliance checkbox, not the developer experience. Authentication evolved from passwords to OAuth to WebAuthn—but identity verification was still using technology from a decade ago.
We founded TrustGate to change that. We're building the trust layer for the internet—programmable infrastructure that goes beyond onboarding to enable trust decisions at every action.
